Results of  Harris Interactive "New Employee/Employer Equation Survey" of 24 Leading Companies Across the American Workforce

Less than half of Americans say they are satisfied with their jobs; only 33% are satisfied and 12% are extremely satisfied.  At the same time, a much lower number actually feel "engaged" by their jobs.  

Only 20% feel very passionate about their jobs; less that 15% agree that they feel strongly energized by their work; and only 31% (strongly or moderately) believe that their employer inspires the best in them.

Increasing numbers of employees are coping with burnout (42%), while one-third (33%) believe they have reached a dead end in their jobs, and 21% are eager to change their jobs.
